Sometimes it can be more convenient not to have emails end up in your Inbox but somewhere else.
A perfect place you might want to send some of the information that comes in via email is Slack.
1. Login to Zapier and create a new Zap
The basic account is free so don't worry. Zapier also makes a lot of other interesting things so it is for sure worth to check out.
2. Choose Email as your Zap Trigger
3. Set “New Inbound Email”
3. Define a email prefix
4. Send a test email from any email account
5. Set Slack as Action App
6. Set “Send Channel Message”
You can also choose private message and many other options, but in most cases you will most likely want to have the email forwarded to a channel.
7. Configure the Slack message format
You can configure to your preference; this below is my configuration which I think is optimal. But what do I know
8. Confirm & Test
Zapier will send the test email you sent before your defined Slack channel now.
Now everything is ready and set. Give your Zap a name and activate it. As soon as this is done, you can use your defined email as a destination within ForwardMX and get your emails forwarded to Slack!
10. Get creative!
Slack is only one possible Action App to choose from. You can do so much more! Browse the catalog of Zapier and maybe you find entirely new and unique use cases. Have fun!
